New York’s Russian Film Week

New identity and brand system for the decade-old annual event

The first such event was held in New York in 2000 with the support of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and called the Russian Film Festival. In 2002, the event was renamed to a more meaningful brand, better reflecting its mission.

Quickly gaining popularity among New York’s art and film community of enthusiasts, it became clear that the event needed a modern, innovative and inspiring brand to help create better engagement, and maintain meaningful connections with the audience.

Articulate the problem >> define the persona and storytelling platform>> craft an intuitive identity and visual system>> rollout the new brand into collateral and digital content>> shape the experience bringing it to life.

We sought to position NY RFW not only as the modern, sophisticated brand that connects the audience to Russia’s modern film industry while keeping the rich heritage relevant through the design strategy and visual system.

A new brand identity and visual system were created and delivered, updating the brand’s online presence through creative storytelling and an engaging state-of-the-art user experience that delights the audience.
